UP IN SMOKE to screen at Ashoka Changemakers Week

We are proud to announce that, in collaboration with the True/False Film Festival, UP IN SMOKE has been selected from a long list of social impact films to be screened at the Ashoka Changemakers Week in Versailles, France

Ashoka: Innovators for the Public is a nonprofit organization based in Arlington, VA, supporting the field of social entrepreneurship. Ashoka was founded by Bill Drayton in 1981 to identify and support leading social entrepreneurs through a Social Venture Capital approach with the goal of elevating the citizen sector to a competitive level equal to the business sector. The organization currently operates in over 70 countries and supports the work of over 2,000 social entrepreneurs, elected as Ashoka Fellows . Ashoka also creates what it calls “mosaics” of best practices that map the commonalities and intersections of key principles that guide Fellows’ individual solutions.

The True/False Film Festival is an annual documentary film festival that takes place in Columbia, Missouri. The festival usually happens on a weekend toward the end of February or the beginning of March, with films being shown from Thursday night to Sunday night. Films are screened at six to seven locations around downtown Columbia, including the Ragtag Cinema, Stephens College’s Macklanburg Playhouse and Windsor Auditorium, The Blue Note, The Cherry Street Artisan Cafe, and the Forrest Theater in the Tiger Hotel.
